Marketing plans, an often over looked utility by some businesses, can help you grow your business because they provide a clear set of objectives, making sure all that is done is not done in vain.

It is crucial these days, that businesses develop such plans, not only to stay competitive but also to respond accordingly to the dynamic nature of business, when needed.  Marketing plans should help you develop and understanding of who you are as a company, what you hope to achieve and what needs to be done in order to accomplish your goals.

These are just a selection of questions you need to ask yourself but by no means an exhaustive list, as a large percentage of marketing is information based.  If you don’t know the challenges you face then it is even harder to make an impact in an increasingly crowded business landscape.

Hundreds of new products and services are created each day and the only way competing companies stand a chance of gaining market share is through understanding and differentiation of self.  But how can all this be achieved without a clear and official documentation of your aims and objectives?

Marketing Managers

A well-designed marketing plan should provide all the information necessary to be able to execute effective marketing strategies, which focus on an end goal.  Being documented, a marketing plan can then be measured, referred to or even altered as new insights develop throughout business activity.  The marketing plan does not need to be extensive to start with, you could start with a basic outline of what you already know and build on it as time goes on.

Understanding how your business operates in terms of its strengths and weaknesses is essential to developing effective marketing plans.  Goals should be documented and activities measured for the sake of progression.  And remember that a failure to plan is also a plan to fail.

Here at Squibble we understand the importance of having a strong marketing plan. Contact us for more information on how we can help you with your marketing.
