We are looking for an experienced designer to join our dynamic design agency.

To apply for this role you must be proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite and have extensive WordPress experience. The ideal candidate must have more than 2 years experience in a design role/or have 2+ years as a freelancer.

As we’re a small team your day will be quite varied and you will be working on a number of projects at any given time. You will be involved in the whole design process, from meeting with the client to develop the brief, communicating the project timelines effectively, managing their expectations and delivering the finished product.

Projects range from creating logo designs to developing web designs or building sites in WordPress. You will also work alongside our web developer designing digital artwork.

The daily duties of the Designer will be:

  • Dealing with the whole process including creation of client designs from initial concept through to artwork sign-off and final print/online check
  • Building and designing projects using our project management programme
  • Brainstorming with other members
  • Representing the creative aspect of the company by all means of contact, including face-to-face meetings, creative pitches, focus groups and via telephone and email
  • Ensuring that all studio output is of the highest standard possible, and maintaining a level of quality control that becomes synonymous with the company
  • Keeping up to date on the latest design industry trends and innovations, and implementing them into the company workflow where possible
  • Researching and interpreting a project in order to effectively reach the relevant target market
  • Quoting clients and delivering proposals

The ideal Designer will have:

  • Ability to understand each client’s individual needs and requirements and creatively interpret these into conceptual designs that meet their expectation
  • A firm understanding of the marketplace(s) in which the company operates and how to best tailor campaigns to utilise both personal and collective experience
  • Creation of design concepts and ability to present ideas to clients intelligently and succinctly
  • Ensuring that attention to detail is consistently high
  • Very good understanding of English language and grammar, including spelling and copywriting
  • In depth knowledge of all relevant software and hardware required for the studio and ability to adapt at speed to new requirements within the role
  • Maintaining, through the use of printed publications and online sources, a current and forward thinking attitude to the industry as a whole

Further key attributes required:

  • BA Hons Degree in Graphic Design or similar
  • Experience of creating new projects for clients
  • Develop new ideas to expand the current product range
  • Working on projects including website design, logo design, brochure design, marketing material design
  • Producing artwork via templates, free hand, Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Liaising daily with the printers and developers
  • Experienced with WordPress
  • Understanding of HTML and CSS

The role is office based in the Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham. Hours of work are 9:00am – 5:00pm
