We are one quarter of our way into 2015, and soon approaching the end of March, which means that the grey and rainy winter days are hopefully part of the past. To get you excited for the new colours and the spring signs out there, we want to present to you the colour of the year! Yes that’s right, there is such a thing, as colour of the year. Have you ever wondered why so many of the high street stores have the same colour trends year after year, and why it all of a sudden turns into a popular colour? We have the answer for you.
The company responsible for this is the colour experts Pantone. They are an X-Rite company and the global colour authority. They have announced that the colour of 2015 is the 18-1438 Marsala. They describe it as a naturally robust and earthly wine red colour, that enriches our mind, body and soul, exuding confidence and stability says Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. Further quoting here on her, she states that:
“Much like the fortified wine that gives Marsala its name, this tasteful hue embodies the satisfying richness of a fulfilling meal, while its grounding red-brown roots emanate a sophisticated, natural earthiness. This hearty, yet stylish tone is universally appealing and translates easily to fashion, beauty, industrial design, home furnishings and interiors.”
